What is a Shakha?
शाखा के हो?The word Shakha means "branch" — and just like branches make a mighty tree, each Shakha is a living branch of Rashtra Sevika Nepal. A Shakha is a daily gathering of women and girls at a local level, usually in a park, school ground, or community space, every morning for about 60–90 minutes.
It is not merely a meeting — it is a complete daily practice of physical training, intellectual development, cultural learning, and collective discipline. The Shakha creates the disciplined, service-minded Sevikas who are the backbone of the organization.
Nepal currently has 2,500+ active Shakhas across all 77 districts — from Taplejung in the east to Darchula in the west, from Humla in the north to Jhapa in the south.

Types of Shakha
Shakhas are organized by age group so every woman and girl can participate at the right level
Bala Shakha
Ages 8 – 12 YearsThe youngest Sevikas learn basic values, patriotic songs, simple games, and the joy of collective participation. The foundation of character is laid here.
Tarun Shakha
Ages 13 – 17 YearsTeenage Sevikas engage in deeper intellectual discussions, more challenging sports, cultural learning, and begin taking small leadership responsibilities.
Yuva Shakha
Ages 18 – 35 YearsYoung women focus on leadership development, community seva, skill training, and organizing activities for younger Sevikas. The dynamic core of the organization.
Sevika Shakha
Ages 35 – 60 YearsMature Sevikas who guide, mentor, and provide the wisdom of experience. They coordinate with local communities and lead major seva activities.
Vरिष्ठ Shakha
Ages 60+ YearsSenior Sevikas who have dedicated decades to the Sangh. They serve as advisors, storytellers of the Rashtra Sevika legacy, and spiritual anchors.
Vidyalaya Shakha
School-BasedSpecial Shakhas operating within school campuses, introducing students to Rashtra Sevika values as part of their daily school routine.
How to Join a Shakha

Simply show up any morning at 6:00 AM. You are welcome to observe and participate. No prior appointment or commitment is needed for your first visit.
